I'm currently reading renegade immortal. I recommend reverend insanity as well, which is also a xianxia, or lord of the mysteries which is a xianhua. 

But if we're talking heavy books, anything famous and Russian would do. I'd recommend some authors from my country but nobody would know them so... 🧉

Okay, but you asked. I'd say the best is Oğuz Atay - Tutunamayanlar(the disconnected) and then Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar - Saatleri Ayarlama Enstitüsü(The Time Regulation Institute) Even though Orhan Pamuk won the Nobel prize, he is controversial so... That's about it for the books you can certainly find in English 🧉
