Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest purchased 53,708 shares of Coinbase, valued at approximately $8.4 million, amid a volatile crypto market following the U.S. presidential debate on Tuesday.

The shares were allocated across three of Ark’s exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

The investment breakdown from Ark’s trade filing shows that 38,475 shares, worth $6 million, were added to its flagship Innovation ETF (ARKK).

Additionally, 9,349 shares, valued at $1.5 million, were purchased for the Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW), and 5,884 shares, worth $925,000, went to the Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF).

Most of these BTC and ETH outflows came after Ray Youssef, the co-founder and former CEO of the peer-to-peer crypto exchange Paxful, revealed that Binance seized the assets of its Palestinian users.

Binance, the largest crypto exchange by trading volume, saw over 275,200 Ethereum tokens leave the exchange in the past 30 days. The platform witnessed an outflow of 86,486 ETH over the past 24 hours alone.

In a Tweet, early Wednesday, Coinbase wrote that it would soon launch “cbBTC,” which is supposed to be a competitor of Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC). In a latest update, Coinbase has pre-launched registration portal for cbBTC, which can be registered using various wallets.
The largest crypto exchange would build “Bitcoin economic system on the Base network,” wrote journalist and blockchain blogger Colin Wu.

“WBTC has caused community concerns due to the involvement of Justin Sun recently. cbBTC is suspected to be a competitor of WBTC.”
Justin Sun, the Tron founder, has recently addressed the increasing concerns regarding his connection with Wrapped Bitcoin. The crypto community has been on a heated debate over Sun’s involvement in the custody operations of WBTC.

If Bitcoin can close above $81,000, it could pave the way for even higher prices with longer-term targets that could extend to $112,727, $157,598, and even $244,890.
