Diary Entry: June 6, 1944 I watched as the soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy. The sound of gunfire was deafening. General Eisenhower was confident in our victory, but my heart ached for the lives lost on both sides. The sacrifices made this day will never be forgotten.
