If I had to bet:

1. Coinbase dot com website / app custodial service starts to allow buys for assets onchain. No need to deal with traditional wallet app UX (which is massively confusing for normies).

Coinbase major advantages:
- 100M KYC customers with fiat payment method
- ability to front $25K buys from a bank account with high reliability (try doing that with Moonpay)
- UX of showing a single price with no confusing slippage and other consumer hostile UX to trade

Robinhood will likely follow. Cash App leaving massive $$$ on the table because Jack is a BTC maxi.

2. Big assets will still get “listed” for the offchain CLOB exchange (because the institutions use that and its 100% counterparty KYC). But that will eventually all move onchain as tech / perf of blockchains improves.

Interesting perspective! If Coinbase streamlines on-chain buying like you suggest, it could be a game-changer for mainstream adoption. Simplified UX could truly demystify crypto for the average user.
