I don't blame people for hating crypto when all they see is obnoxious degen culture. Nothing political there. This culture needs to be excised from our communities in favor of cypherpunk + regen ideas.

Unironically would support this. Interested to see if there's a specific reason for maintaining this standard for so long when chat apps moved past it so long ago.

Is this the address that owns the FID, an address the user associates with the account, both...? Generally speaking people's FID address is not their main or most convenient hot or cold wallet they use for onchain activity.

I disagree - the reason I'm ok with spending every waking moment in this space is because it makes me feel omnipotent. If I have a good idea I can build it. Permissionless open source tech is the greatest thing since adding those little indents to ketchup packets.

Except politics might actually yield some change if done productively - whereas we already know the language I use is the best one and everyone else is wrong.

They don't have to change anything - just add a "satire" tag somewhere near the bottom.

One side is worried about elections being rigged, which has been debunked hundreds of times and obviously proved false now. The other is worried about an insurrectionist getting into power, which he did. *insert "we are not the same" meme here*

Yes they are, as long as they respect the results of an election and allow for the peaceful transfer of power. Executive orders aren't bad - using them without necessity after failing to create workable legislation though shows incompetence at best, authoritarian tendencies at worst. All the conspiracy theories of media control have literally come to pass, but from the side making those up - foreign tech billionaire buying majority shares of a media company, taking it private, using it to post partisan content... Not to mention "Trump media"... I won't argue this election outcome hasn't been good for the price of crypto. But we really shouldn't conflate that with what is good for crypto. An authoritarian leader who makes (frankly) tempting promises about things the community is frustrated about should not win us over this easily. And any "hypothetical" scenarios are things that have already happened; but coin price go up I guess.

With the disregard for the constitution shown, I doubt that'd stop him - but that's a moot point - he can just try and force through some sympathizer or some family member later. The second and third points go hand in hand - republicans had a majority in almost every branch of government during his 1st term. This is just another lie propagated through social media to justify bad governance. And no, issuing executive orders is not the president's job. It's a last resort mechanism from a specific interpretation of the constitution - one that Trump himself said he wanted to do away with. With regards to voting - I'd just argue you'd need very good reason to vote for something/someone that represents the exact opposite of what you are building towards or believe in.

Refusing to allow the peaceful transfer of power, directing the DOJ to persecute political opponents, seeking criminal immunity from the supreme court, governing mostly through executive orders instead of legislation. Utilizing social media to lie and misinform, ruining crypto's image by launching scam after scam.

Darryl pls, we can't preach decentralization and support someone that seeks unbound centralization of power, and abuses the tech we've built to the detriment of the same people that voted for them, if not everyone

I disagree - I don't think there is any policy shift that would've affected this outcome. If you move an inch there are 50+ new conspiracy theories created and propagated by Trump, Musk, Jones, etc. and this is all the media people on the right consume.
