I have some news...

My SaaS, Potion, has been acquired! 🎉🥳

I've been building potion.so solo for the last 2 years.

Here's the story on how things went down!
...even the sale price. 🙃

Building /stokefire a mobile strategy game onchain. Run and own poolfish.xyz a calculator for LP providers. Built Potion solo and sold for $300k.

Potion is a website builder that allows you to easily turn Notion pages into a fast, SEO optimized website.

I started it because I was scratching my own itch and I loved serving the Notion community.

I built in public from the very beginning here on Twitter.

I took 2 months to build the MVP.

On day 2 of early access, I got my first customer.

And within the first 3 months of launch I got my first 75 users, which all came from Twitter.

A couple other highlights with Potion:
- ProductHunt Product of the day in May 2021
- Receiving the Product Hunt Maker Grant.
- Getting growth back up to 6% MoM after 6 months of plateau in mid 2022.

I posted Potion on acquire.com.

Around 25 people were interested and sent a NDA to learn more.
Out of those, 6 people jumped on a call.
From that, 3 people gave offers.
2 that were very serious.

I went back and forth between the 2 offers and really contemplating if selling was actually what I wanted to do.

I had gotten Potion to a point where it only took me 2 hours a week to do customer support. Either I spend my time trying to get the biz to the next level or...

...sell and start something new and fresh!

I've been public with Potion's numbers up to this point so I'm going to keep that going by sharing what Potion was acquired for! 🙃

I ended up selling Potion for $300k! 🎉

I'm really happy with the outcome and it has been great to work with Bruno Morency who acquired Potion. He has made the transition really smooth.

Bruno has great biz experience and he is going to take Potion to the next level!

He has sold a SaaS in the past and before acquiring Potion was the Managing Director of Techstars Montréal AI.

So Potion users are in great hands!

What's next for me?

I'm going to start another online biz! 🎉

I'm really excited for the future!

Potion has been growing about 6% MoM for awhile now and I built it up to $6,300 MRR.

But I was ready to move to a new challenge and it seemed like it might be a good time to sell Potion and harvest the value I've built.
