Spicy Saturdays: Hot Take …. Burn The Treasury Nouns 🔥 

I’m considering putting in a proposal for this, idea would be there would be a set date, say Halloween when the burn would take place…. So everyone can get their swaps in ahead of time. 

Rationale: giving out Nouns dilutes the governance of active participants…. && historically the % of Nouns given out that are left unused or delegated is larger than those given out that do participate. 

The dilution of governance was also something I mentioned in Nouncil, thankfully we passed a vote to raise voting participation rate to double the previous metric. 

I know it’s a spicy topic, but would love to hear everyone’s thoughts…. To burn or not to burn, that is the question. 🤔

I totally agree - I’m not really sold on the idea that we should be using those nouns for handouts. If we want to grant nouns to ecosystem members, there should be a better way than reappropriating nouns that defectors abandoned

Currently angel investing, learning solidity, and farming a lot of airdrops 

I really like the idea of having a Dutch Auction with Treasury Nouns, the ones that don't sell could be burned....we could also transfer some to a special contract to save for future gifts to ecosystem members, but only a handful, so that way receiving one would have more meaning.
