I keep seeing people reply with $/DEGEN - are you actually somehow sending me 1000 $/DEGEN when you do that? And how do I see/access that? I found (What i thought) was the token contract and added it to metamask but didn't see any there,

The tipping is NOT sending you $DEGEN *now*. It's tipping you in a special airdrop counter cataloged at degen.tips. Check out Points -> Airdrop 2 and also Faq on that site. At an undetermined time in the future, airdrop 2 will be distributed to the people who were tipped. Several anti-gaming algos in place Enjoy!

First airdrop got sent to active FC users for various reasons (see site for AD1 details). Second AD involves giving daily allowances to all sorts of people to give tips to others (not themselves). These tips have various safeguards and anti-gaming, but the end result will be a massive airdrop to people tipped

The amount that each account gets to tip is determined loosely by how engaged that person was. For example I averaged 5 replies per cast and I get about 4500 DEGEN to tip each day. Unspent DEGEN is lost. Some people get way less; some people get ungodly amounts (20k+)
