This chart is misleading -- it actually needs to factor in that technology allowed us to take something that 100w of energy and do it even better with 3w. See this on LEDs, but can be applied to everywhere (chips, industry, commercial buildings, etc.). https://t.ly/XuDF

That said, I'm still on team abundance (let's make energy even cheaper so we can do things like desal, etc.!!) but the perception that progress has stopped from the chart is wrong.
