End of an era. The large branch that fell off our 100+ year old maple tree. It’s the same branch that holds the rope swing, seen in the picture. I was out on my porch cooking dinner on the grill when it happened. First thing that alerted me was the loud pops and cracks. I looked up and witnessed it crashing into the tree in our neighbor’s yard. That must have slowed it significantly because when it made contact with the utility line, it only stretched and bowed it instead of snapping it in two.

How huge is this branch! Lucky no one get hurt . So Sorry to oldie maple tree

I will post a photo for scale later today. It happened at night. My neighbors were away on vacation so there was no chance of anyone else getting hurt.
