Peace and quiet aren't easy to come by these days. The constant complexity of life, combined with the new added layers of stress that come from being constantly online, constantly accessible, constantly in-the-know... These things add up. We were pleasantly surprised to find Bondhusvatnet at the end of a short amble in the rain during our hiking honeymoon in Norway. The water was completely still and afforded perfect reflections (and a clear view of the rocks below). Our favorite part was the rowboat sitting out there, quiet and alone, as if daring weary travelers to come out for a ride. We didn't take it up on its offer, but the fact that somebody built a little ramp and chained up a boat here just to find a little bit of tranquility in our busy world?
