my biggest mistakes in the past two startups. hiring a lot prior to a ~lasting pmf. prior to pmf, 2-3 is optimal. depends on the space, but i’d rather narrow down the scope of the product’s MVP than to hire more. if you need 5+ for a relatively simple consumer app, it likely needs a fat trim.
