The Surf app is built on the open protocols AT Proto, ActivityPub and RSS, tells Mike McCue in posts on Threads and Bluesky: “In Surf you can easily create and surf custom feeds that organize people, videos, articles and podcasts around the things you care about”

Here you can join the beta for Surf. Mike McCue says to The Verge that the Surf team wants to bring in some curators and creators first, in order for there to be lots of stuff in Surf when everyone else gets access.

In the beta form for Surf, you are asked whether you have any social accounts in Bluesky, Threads, Mastodon and/or Flipboard. The beta is open both for iOS and Android mobiles. Surf can also be followed on Bluesky and Threads.
