A moment with my boys. At my youngest’s school art event:

My oldest wants face painting, so he sits in the chair and the artists asks “what do you want? Tiger? Lion?” 

As he flips through the book. He settles on butterfly but the painting person insists “don’t you want something for a boy? A dinosaur?” 

My husband steps in “look, my kid is headstrong, if he says butterfly, give him the butterfly”
