In the Swisstronik network, validators, representing independent nodes, ensure network security through cryptographic block signatures, earning rewards, while delegators can delegate their tokens to validators to receive a share of the rewards.

Validators

Swisstronik is built on Tendermint. This means that it provides security with a set of validators. Validators transmit votes that contain cryptographic signatures.

Validators are assigned a weight based on their total stake.

Delegators

Delegators don't want to perform validator operations themselves. They are important participants in the system because they are responsible for selecting validators.
If a validator makes a mistake, the share of each of its delegates will be reduced in proportion to its share.

Slashing

Slashing is a preventative measure. 
This means that depending on the severity of the network breach and the safety of the participants, the interest rate is reduced.

There are two types of breach, downtime and double sign.
