Hive Digital, a leading public Bitcoin miner, is expanding its operations in Paraguay, aiming to increase its capacity by over 400%. Executive Chairman Frank Holmes revealed the plans, citing the country's abundant hydroelectric energy as a key factor. The expansion will utilize the surplus energy from the Itaipu dam, one of the largest in the world, which would otherwise be sold to Brazil at a lower rate. Holmes emphasized the mutual benefits, stating that Hive Digital's presence will provide the government with a steady stream of US dollars and support local infrastructure development.
