Members of the National and Punjab Assemblies have praised the provincial government’s plan to build an international-standard bullet train between Rawalpindi and Lahore, calling it a landmark initiative for Punjab’s development. For the first time in the country’s history, a bullet train project of international standards is being launched between Rawalpindi and Lahore, which parliamentarians believe will mark a major milestone in Punjab's progress. Speaking on the matter, members of the National Assembly, Provincial Assembly, and Senate emphasised that the development of Punjab is integral to the development of Pakistan. They highlighted that it was former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision to initiate a bullet train project in the country. Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi have reportedly completed the necessary groundwork to ensure the project's success. Parliamentarians confirmed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will soon lay the foundation.
