The pink fairy armadillo, resembling a fuzzy caterpillar mixed with a lobster, is the smallest armadillo species at 13cm long. Native to South America's sandy plains and scrublands, it's called the "sand swimmer" for its subterranean agility. Its pink hue comes from blood circulation in its shell to regulate body temperature in the arid climate. 😮
