The SEC has repealed the controversial SAB 121 rule. This rule had prevented banks from holding Bitcoin and client cryptocurrencies, as it required them to declare these digital assets on their balance sheets, creating confusion and tax complications. Now, banks will be able to offer custodial services and, theoretically, even crypto lending.
