imo DEGEN has a somewhat uphill battle because it started as a meme. the transition to layer 3 was chasing buzzwords without a need (again imo). We need more fractured layers in the same way we need an endless mint bug on ETH. MOXIE on the otherhand... 1) started as a badass fully funded group of tech wizards 2) any new user will see MOXIE as a quasi farcaster coin and all around bullish for retention on the platform imo 3) alot of really good devs are already putting forward their skills and time to push MOXIE further 4) adding some meme flare to MOXIE after having the above makes sense to me.

I do agree with the whole part , Degen had time to become the main token of farcaster especially after farcon and official announcement of Dan and Jesse that ( farcaster and base has no local token yet) , but lost the chance , Then moxie came with solving all Degen's issues by learning from its experience, despite I love Degen and how it's effort on farcaster growth , but it's moxie time honestly, and you mentioned about reasons clearly 🫡
