Mark Karpeles, the former CEO of defunct cryptocurrency exchange Mt. Gox, plans to launch his new exchange, EllipX, this month. Based in Poland, the platform will initially serve European users and plans to expand globally. At first, Elix will only work with digital currencies, but it is possible to add banking services and fiat currencies in the future. The exchange plans to comply with the EU's Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) regulation and promote transparency through regular third-party audits. In order to restore trust and compensate the people affected by the Matt Gox hack, Karplus will offer at least a 50% discount on Elix trading fees to former users. This discount is related to the Non-Featured Tokens (NFT) that CarPlus released to MetGax users a few years ago.
