Today, let's dive into our origin stories in web3—what initially drew you to crypto/blockchain?

For me, it started with a conversation at a family dinner a few years ago. One of our kids (we have four teenage boys) mentioned BAYC and discussed the art sales happening onchain. In the weeks that followed, I began researching and learning about web3, including taking a few courses to get educated on NFTs and blockchain technology. One of the first transactions I completed onchain was minting a piece of artwork by @gabeweis on the native ETH chain!

Like many others, my Web3 origin story begins with Bitcoin. In 2020, a friend encouraged me to invest—funny enough, she hadn’t invested herself. I didn’t understand price volatility at the time, so I decided to take the academic route. I enrolled in MIT’s cryptocurrency and blockchain programs.

That’s where I discovered the potential of blockchain to impact remittances, and I was immediately hooked. I started looking for educational content in Spanish and quickly realized there wasn’t much high-quality, easy-to-understand information available.

That’s what led us to launch @cryptoconexion, and we’ve been on this journey ever since - working closely with @analopez —committed to making Web3 more accessible for Spanish-speaking communities.
