seems there are lots of immigrants here (I’m the daughter of one!). some random Qs I can’t shake: 1. what parts of current immigration discussion are the most important to you? 2. why/why not should we distinguish between legal v illegal immigration? 3. who do you think is most affected by immigration in the US?

Interesting questions. Allow me, an immigrant, share some of my perspectives 1. Immigration policies, especially the stupid rules on immigration based on birth place. European countries don’t discriminate like that. In addition, H1B visa lottery system. 2. Should, their ways to stay in this country are different.

thanks for sharing, appreciate your perspective. agree on the birth place rules needing to be thrown out the window. re: 2, do you feel that we adequately separate the two? or is there a stronger focus on one vs. the other?

Agree with @jia on 1. Re:2 - I don't think we should separate the two. There should be a way in for everyone who wants in - just have a clear & transparent process. Canada's government website has everything a new immigrant needs to know how to get into the country. Can't say the same for US.
