The base network is specifically a Rollup L2 Blockchain. It works by collecting a number of off-chain Ethereum transactions and sending them to the main chain in a single block. A summary of transactions that includes cryptographic proof of authenticity of off-chain transactions is sent to the Ethereum core. /base
