Hmmmnβ¦
As I stepped off the train and onto the worn platform, the cool night air enveloped me, carrying the whispers of a new beginning. I had left behind the heartache, the tears, and the shattered dreams and aspirations π.
The city lights twinkled like diamonds in the distance, beckoning me towards a future I thought of him, of course. The one who had promised forever, but delivered only pain. I thought of the nights I had cried myself to sleep, of the days I had wandered aimlessly, lost and alone.But as I stood there, the wind rustling my hair, I knew I was ready to let go. I was ready to start anew, to find myself in the midst of strangers, to discover a strength I never knew I had.
With a quiet resolve, I turned my back on the memories, on the heartache, and on the past. I walked towards the city lights, towards the unknown, and towards a future that was mine alone.
I never looked back.
