Test Ground Mannequin - The Pentland Experiment Combining analogue and digital painting processes. The Pentland Experiment is an on-going project which depicts an alternative reality on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Using electronic techniques, which converge the digital and physical, Harman creates abstracted motifs within sparse landscapes. Figures and structures are deliberately burred from the viewer in these highly staged algorithmic compositions. Within the corruption of the digital, there is a break up of information, which leaves the viewer flickering between abstraction and figuration

Notice of Scheduled Maintenance The streamer lay on the desk, surrounded by the remnants of his career. The plastic straw just pulled from his arm, an idea as brilliant as a neon sign in a dive bar. He thought a lethal mix of Coke and Mentos was the way out, and so it was. “If I have to go, let it be with a burst of effervescence,” he thought. His audience, the likes, the comments… it all seemed so distant now, like a forgotten hangover. He couldn’t bear the idea of a day without streaming, without connection. A tragicomic stroke of genius, worthy of a season finale.

Smokeless Hell Some dude with a face that screams ‘couldn’t care less’ tosses his “Heets”into the sewer like it’s a gift to the universe. Oblivious, or rather, damn oblivious, to what fate befalls his little synthetic fix. But oh, the wonders that await down in the urban abyss! Cigarette stubs, the seasoned smokers, the tortured souls lying in the sewer’s depths, all ready to torment those Heets, to give them hell for daring to be smokeless.

See No Evil I find an untenable situation in society where everything is viewed through a hypersensitive scrutiny. Subsequently, value systems have become polarized, preventing common sense or middle ground from prevailing. "See No Evil" is an expression I come back to often as it relates to live and let live.
