Walrus https://walrus.xyz is a decentralized storage network built on Sui for large data blobs. It uses erasure coding to split files into "slivers" across many nodes, enabling recovery even if ~2/3 of nodes fail, with only ~4-5x replication overhead.

How it works: Walrus uses Sui smart contracts to coordinate storage; the blockchain manages shard assignments and records proofs of availability. Off-chain nodes store the data, allowing Walrus to scale to hundreds of nodes (potentially to exabytes of capacity).
