Before starting Sprout, I asked many friends for their thoughts on the idea. I quickly realized—giving compliments is easy, but telling the truth is hard. My friends usually fell into two groups: 1. Those who supported me no matter what and helped me build the project. 2. Those who told me exactly what they thought—even if it might dampen my enthusiasm. I cherish both. I turned the first group into my co-founders, partners, angel investors, and comrades. And the second group into my advisors—seeking their honest feedback at every stage. People who are willing to push you and tell you the truth are worth cherishing forever.

Some lil anecdotes: - when I was still looking for the next idea to build. There was one month, I created three pitch decks. Everyday I wake up, I will check in with my team and friends to see if we could build an mvp quickly. 😭 and 3 weeks later I will just get the mvp no matter how ridiculous the idea sounded at that time. (my vc friends also “suffered” a lot during this period lol) - none of the founding team members are taking any salary right now; but they will fly 40+ hours just to support me when I need to talk to local partners on the other side of the world even though distribution is never their focus area. They have stood by me, holding an umbrella in the pouring rain—so I will always stand by their side.
