I've done that in the past for some non-contest pieces - in this case I would say:

1. Definitely publish FIRST on t2 because for it to count in the contest it has to be new material...

2. Probably wait at least a few days (or maybe after contest ends) to cross-post to Paragraph or other media outlets.

3. Could definitely use separate short Paragraph article about the t2 contest to drive your Paragraph readers to your t2 piece and build engagement/time points!
