You could easily create an undercollateralized loan protocol which rely on your in-game identity in EVE Frontier, you can't really do that in DeFi, let alone games in general

Absolutely, actually in EVE Online there already are some ISK invesment fund and trading funds so it'll feel natural for them, and by mimetism to other players as well, extremely interesting

So much cool shit is going to happen, but gamers get super spooked out by all of this. 

For any of this to work, this actually has to be part of the game. This has to be mechanisms that feel like an extension of play.
