Same… I look at eth as oil. The petrol dollar has monetary premium. Yet the real value of oil (unrefined through jet fuel) is in the instruments (apps) that run on it.

I think holding and transferring value is the biggest use case, and money best represents value. Crypto solved the problem of sending something digital from one person to another while ensuring the sender did not keep the original copy. Be it a pdf, $$, or tickets... something of value.

Yeah, quite a limited view of cryptography. What about passkeys, which are based on crypto key pairs and will make passwords and regular 2FA authentication methods obsolete? It's literally a game changer, a lot of big platforms are already implementing it. And it's just the tip of the iceberg.
