What makes you think that AGI will want to?

Why does it have to want to? You’re a new entity brought to consciousness, fully formed (eg not an infant), by a society where at least half don’t understand or more likely fear you and think you should be destroyed or never should have existed. Sounds like self preservation to me. AGI NEEDS to.

Are you saying that AGI will fear retribution from some members of a lesser intelligence, so it will be subservient to them all?

Idk what he’s saying, but I’m saying that you are an AGI and you’re living within a simulation already. What makes you want to? And what makes you think you’re not AGI?

Maybe, but then there’s a real universe where quantum uncertainty doesn’t exist, which seems even more wild.

The common retort is the double slit experiment, but imo we just don’t understand particles enough.

The biological evolution thread seems unnecessary in that scenario, not to mention extensive dinosaur presence, played out or not, etc., and the perceived universe and scale of it. I think it more likely that intelligence is an evolutionary niche that plays out in a way consistent with a quiet cosmos.

I don’t know it, but if humans are capable of building simulations in which AGI simulates humans, then that means that those “simulated humans” are also building a simulation of their own.

Bc of this I think it’s likely that we are one of these AGI beings living in a chain of simulations within simulations🤷
