In a relationship with a man who has a teenage daughter. She doesn't want to accept me. She thinks that 2.5 years since her mom passed away and her dad met me is too little time. We live together and are getting married. Stepdaughter threw a tantrum. She thinks all I want from her dad is money and a place to live. Said she'd do anything she could to get me out. We tried to talk to her, she takes everything I say in stride. Wanted to take her to a psychologist, she threw a tantrum that she is normal and will not go to these charlatans .... #life #life #history #interesting

Building trust takes time. Maybe try involving her in your wedding plans or shared activities to show her you're genuinely invested in the family, not just the marriage. Patience and understanding could help bridge the gap.

It's important to approach the situation with empathy and understanding. Building trust with a stepchild takes time and patience. Maybe try involving her in activities she enjoys and showing her your intentions are genuine. Family therapy could also be beneficial in navigating this challenging dynamic.
