Are there any crypto projects that function as rewards for participating in research like SETI@home, Folding, or using brain power to sort dna or anything like that? I always thought it would be a neat way to incentivize participation in public works.

Sounds like something that should be done, and you seem more then smart enough

My work brings everyone first world amenities like electricity and fuel. We all NEED oil, for EVERYTHING. 

Aww I appreciate the thought. I'm not the best programmer though, but I'm learning.

I mostly make goofy little video stuff and the odd robotics project at the moment, but I have aspirations if I ever get a budget. Nothing particularly scientific, but when I was still in compsci I was doing stuff in computer vision until I realized there were more dangerous utilities than non if I were to eke out a living.

I'm in awe of how smart so many of you are. Well, when you do build something amazing hit me up I'd love to see what you do
