You left and I didn’t see it coming.
Disappeared unexpectedly…

Without warning
Without goodbye
Without a hint of why…

Nothing seemed wrong
But maybe it was so 
I just did not know…

I woke up and you were gone…
You and all your belongings.
One would not believe you’ve even ever been here…

Empty drawers
Empty wardrobe
Full ashtray and empty whiskey glass…
And my empty heart…

Took me a while 
To realise 
That it was real
Oh what a surprise…

Am sitting in your chair 
this surreal morning
Sipping your whiskey
With ice and tears

You threw such a plot twist 
Into our balanced life
Could have left a note at least 
Sigh…
