Ethereum is also for cringe people that the first thing they put in their bio is EF (followed by "opinions my own") and block those that ask them what they built in context of to them expressing categorical opinions about the app layer

Introducing Minimized Mini Apps - You now have the ability to minimze your mini app just above the navigation bar at the bottom of your app - Especially useful when you want to check out someone's profile from the rewards app - Sound stays on while minimized—probably some alpha for audio / livestreaming / WebRTC developers. Bring back Tavern!

First impressions of Warpcast: - I’m enjoying the app’s visuals, but I feel somewhat overwhelmed - The community is very friendly and welcoming - I’m confused about how to use mini apps and I would like to try building one once I have some time to figure that out - Why can’t I update my username?

What are you frustrated with re: Farcaster? I won't argue with you -- will just ask clarifying questions. Will address the top issues in a cast tomorrow or Monday.

Our original thesis was incorrect: a decentralized permissionless protocol would allow other clients to grow users for the protocol. This evolved into product-led protocol development (see blog post). And even that has fallen short on the most important thing developers want: daily active users and user growth. Updated version of this philosophy: 1. Make the underlying data and APIs as open as possible 2. Ensure that accounts / identities are portable and sovereign 3. Build an opinionated, high-quality client that is relentlessly focused on user growth. There will be reasonable criticism early on "how can I trust you won't stop building the protocol", but time and consistent shipping on protocol promises will earn trust (and assuming 1 and 2 actually work). 4. At some sufficient scale—not sooner than 10M+ DAU at the protocol—work on further decentralizing the protocol / hardening it from capture. And because you have a big client, you can do that. https://danromero.org/product-led-protocols.html

Not financial advice It's worth pointing out that trending onchain notifications do surface things early—in some cases. This morning we sent a notification around 8:15am PT about a new coin $GHIBLIFY created by @nounishprof. We had a bunch of people complain that this notification was bad and/or meant the coin had peaked. However, hours later, a prominent celebrity on Twitter bought the asset via Bankr. And the price increased. What does this mean? - First: not every notification will keep increasing in price afterwards. Many will gown down in price! - It does mean that our algo is surfacing onchain activity that many other people on Farcaster are doing. - Additionally, we now surface additional information about coins like the creator, the date created and the cast that created it (when available) - We're going to continue iterating on these notifications—thresholds to send, what information to provide—because many people find them useful. - If they bother you, you're free to turn them off

Priorities this week 1) Make it easy to do stuff onchain — frames + wallet; this is the differentiating thing for Farcaster and we will continue to lean into this 2) Growth — rewards + invites + new user onboarding flow + airdrop offers — make it more likely people invite new users and they stick around 3) Protocol upgrades — make it easier for other apps with existing users to integrate Farcaster, e.g. Snapchain 4) Creator onboarding — outreach and onboarding to help increase / diversify the amount of interesting content on the network
