If you want life to bring you pleasure, then make all your decisions independently, relying on your inner states and your feelings. If you trust fate, thereby shifting responsibility for yourself and your life to it, then you should not be surprised by the problems that arise or the constant pain inside, as well as the feeling that you are not living your own life.
