The funniest was Dublin. I asked someone how to get back to my hostel. It was 2008, so pre-smartphone. He explained. I have no idea how directions work and did not understand at all. I walked all the way across the park, and took a left instead of a right, then I heard "No! No! Wait!" He was running across the park and was like "Its the other way, you know what.... I'll just walk with you"

It was really, really nice. And I was 20, and he was maybe 26 or 27, so of course my defenses went up a bit, but as soon as we got to the hostel he was like "well here we are then, enjoy your time in Dublin!" smiled and waved and was off. A real "restore your faith in humanity" moment
