Rivers, O rivers I too will carve my way, To reach the ocean’s arms, a fish, a fish astray. No more will I surrender my fate to tomorrow’s whim, Nor let my heart, moment by moment, drown in dreams so dim. I’ll cleanse the dust of this weary flesh, purify, purify, Bury my earthen memories where forgotten whispers lie.
