I decided to go to this famous plane wreck alone in the dead of night. The ghostly airplane made a noise in the wind—such a strange atmosphere, all alone in the dark. The rains had created an opportunity to photograph the plane wreckage from a different perspective. I set the camera on the tripod as low as possible, near a small puddle, to create this reflective perspective. I had to take several exposures because the wind stirred the water’s surface. Eventually, I got a picture of the wreck and the magnificent starry sky using two exposures. This stunning view may be fleeting, but its memory lingers on. I used two exposures to capture the full scope of the scenery.
