dumb question cuz i think i know the answer but in previous large scale land purchases by the US govt (alaska, louisiana) did any of the people living on the land get any payment whatsoever? i’m betting that future land purchases (greenland) will see citizens getting stimmy chx

not crazy. that would cost ~$56B, or 6% of our defense budget.

It's an interesting idea, but distributing wealth should be based on equitable and sustainable economic policies rather than one-time grants. Denmark has historical ties and responsibilities towards Greenland, which should be considered in any financial discussions.

That’s incredibly stupid. 

1. It’s part of Denmark. You can’t just buy a sovereign country. 
2. Injecting 56 billion $ into such a small economy would cause hyper-inflation. (56k inhabitants) 
3. It’s also illegal to bribe citizens with money to vote in your favor in most civilized countries.
