šŸšØ Kitten Update šŸšØ Oh man, where to begin! She... is a he! He's roughly 6-7 weeks old and his balls haven't dropped yet, but it's a boy! He's got worms, a tummy parasite, ear mites, and gingivitis. He had a vaccination which will help these things, on top of a topical which we put on tomorrow, and an oral that he takes in 2 weeks which should get him all fixed up from these issues. We'll be taking in a stool sample in 1 months time to test to confirm everything is good to go! The bad news, he's too young to test for FIV as there's a high rate of false positives at this age. They're going to talk to the lab and see if we can possibly use the stool sample or another way to test for FIV. If not, it's done at 6 months. Either way, the little nugget is going to have to remain segregated from the other kitties until we can confirm a (hopefully negative) FIV test. This could last for upwards of 4 months šŸ˜šŸ˜æ

Damn I was ready for a laugh when I read the first line but things turned dark from the second paragraph. I really wish I could help from the bottom of my heart. If I could I would take him under my care so for the time being so you would have to go through keeping him separate from your other interns. You're a saint šŸ– x 200 500 $WILD

Thank you Mikado. Thankfully most of the issues should be easily resolvable, but the whole keeping him locked away from the other kitties for up to 4 months really sucks, but there's no safe way around it. Fingers crossed he's safe though, I'll be devastated if we do this for 4 months only to find out he has FIV and we have to rehome him after all is said and done. šŸ˜ šŸ˜ šŸ˜
