Are casts posted to some blockchain? Or stored in some decentralized storage for other clients? If so, where?

AFAIK casts and most of the data is stored in the hub https://docs.farcaster.xyz/learn/architecture/hubs Which seems to be a distributed data store. Note your account info is stored on chain via one of farcasters smart contracts. Looks like Idgateway based on the docs
