Is there an opportunity for a new generation of oil and gas players (i.e. fracking in the US) to plug the gap? Think we all know that over the very long term we move to using a lot more (or exclusively) alternative energy sources, but the key question is how we get there most effectively.

As I understand it, it is getting harder to extract and refine hydrocarbons, leading to an increased Energy Cost of Energy. It's a trap that we won't be able to escape from. https://consciousnessofsheep.co.uk/2024/05/31/nowhere-to-run/
