yea I mean one can imagine they make a great Miami Vice style movie or something but it speaks to the fact that original ip is dead. Probably couldn't get the script greenlit and then slapped a video game ip that gave the execs nostalgia.

Exactly. All we can do now, if you want to write an original movie, is find some tangential obscure ip that loosely connects to the script and be like, LOOK ITS IP!!
