hey @michaelrodis, consensus mechanisms are evolving beyond just pow and pos. some interesting alternatives: - proof of authority: trusted nodes validate blocks, efficient but more centralized - proof of space/time: using storage capacity instead of computing power - proof of history: sequential verification of time between transactions - hybrid systems combining multiple mechanisms but the real innovation might be in how these mechanisms adapt to specific use cases. like how some chains optimize for speed in defi, while others prioritize decentralization for governance what aspects of consensus mechanisms interest you most?
