Could an act of selfless love be achieved without an ounce of piety?

5+ decades of advancement in materialistic truth, embodied in agnosticism and/or atheism—have we actually provide any kind of selfless love, akin to what many devotees and martyrs of these religions we're so willing to denounce and criticise to world's end?

Perhaps a rightful and justified critic, with our anecdotal distasteful experience dictates. But have we, the critique as a whole—have done something as luminary as these selfless servants of god that we often love to put beneath the jurisdiction of scientific truth?

Ponder, my fellow sapiens. As without these class of people, the world is darker than it already is.
