FIP: Adding location to user data After more research, we're recommending encoding location as latitude, longitude values rounded to one decimal place. We plan to finalize this after the next dev call. If you have feedback, please let us know in comments! https://github.com/farcasterxyz/protocol/discussions/196

A bit extreme @v. If people want my location they can ask. Not to mention this could be abused by apps and signers no?

If you’ve given a malicious app a signer, it can just cast your location out today.

Not really satisfied with this argument. Why must my location be forever imprinted on the hub and why should everyone on the feed know the location. It’s overkill. But hey, whatever data we can get from the user is good for the subgraph since subgraph is now the business of merkle instead of decentralisation. Bleak outlook if you ask me.

It’s opt in. If you don’t like it, don’t use it.
