I’m seeing people literally 5-10x their follower count and get the same amount of engagement on their casts as I do.

No one is earning their followers through quality content here. 

Some accounts aren’t even active for months and still growing.

It’s all inflated and it’s annoying for those who put in work.

me being sad about the fact the bot army hasn’t pumped my followers x10.

jokes aside. followers shouldn’t be the important metric here. what good are basically 50%+ 🤖 within your following. that’s basically dead weight.
I rather have fewer but genuine real people.

Sorry, let me elaborate.

Follower count is not the most important metric, but it certainly is a valuable one more than people think.

More opportunities come your way by having a higher following, even if those followers are fake

It’s just typical psychological user behavior.

I‘m well aware but depends on what you want. it‘s not CT and hopefully never will be. 90% of CT is extractionary. doesn’t mean that this platform can’t grow and "reward" users without becoming a clone and the regular user falling for "influencer 100k+ follower" stuff.

For sure, which is why engagement realistically is the most important metric.

In terms of this platform growing and rewarding users, I think they have a long way to go — we both are well aware of the power badge and the flaws.

I hope it will never be CT either.
