Think of UX designers as sous chefs. 

They're trained to master diverse cuisines, understand flavor combinations, and create exceptional dining experiences. But imagine if we only let them flip burgers. Then, when burger demand drops, we conclude that chefs are obsolete.

True user experience design goes beyond interfaces and wireframes. It's the entire journey - discovering your product through SEO, to reading emails, dealing with invoices, accessing content, using tools... everything that shapes how users feel.

What do you think? Am I being unfair? Have you been boxed into a corner in your organization? If so how do we better communicate our full potential and break out of the UX/UI box.

Part of the problem lies with UX boot camps and quick training programs that only teach the basics - the equivalent of flipping burgers. This limited education has created a widespread misconception that UX is nothing more than UI design and research (flipping burgers). 
 
Not all the blame can be placed on boot camps. In their eyes, they are only delivering what organizations asked for. The problem is that most organizations don’t really face the true extent of the user experience.
